Tunnel building craneThis crane is used underground in tunnel building to assemble the tunnel drills after they have been lowered to 120 metres under ground level. The crane should be able to work reliably without maintenance being necessary. The energy and data cables it requires must be protected from the dusty environment and should be housed compactly on account of the cramped conditions. A pre-assembled igus® readychain® was mounted on the crane directly after delivery and has been in service reliably for two years now.
