Aiming high
The prototype of the „Sunseeker Duo“ solar plane is the world‘s first solar-powered two-seater. It must, above all, be light. Therefore, each component was chosen carefully to obtain optimal technical properties for optimal performance. The objective in the design of the wing suspension was to find a simply assembled connecting element. Here the lightweight igubal® KGLM spherical bearings were used, which are already integrated in the manufacture of the wing, out of composite materials. More igus® bearings are used in the suspension of the horizontal stabiliser and in attaching the flaps to the wings.
