Drilling resistance gauge
Non-destructive test
This device measures the drilling resistance of a needle penetrating wood at high rotational speed. It allows the inner condition of trees and timber to be determined almost without destruction. The devices are exposed to different temperatures and drilling dust during the process. Conventional rail guides were too difficult and costly to maintain. The change to a lubricant-free igus® rail guide allowed the device to be made smaller and less expensive.
