Hot and wet
This machine is used to shrink packaging using water heated to 90°C. The conveyer belt transports the products to the machine and submerges them in water. This process was to take only a few seconds. Up to 80 kilogrammes of material were to be processed in one batch. The challenge was to find a linear guide that can work reliably and quickly under these tough conditions. For this reason, a DryLin® R linear guide from igus® was chosen.
