The bipod presented here is fastened to the front of a sports firearm and acts as a rest for the gun whilst shooting. It features legs that are adjustable in length, which can be folded for transport purposes, as well as a joint to compensate for canting. The bipod must support the weight of the weapon and absorb the impact from recoil when firing. All moving elements are designed with plastic plain bearings. Cylindrical bearings and flange bearings made of iglidur® G and igubal® spherical bearings are used here. The use of lubricant-free igus® bearings makes the bipod maintenance-free.
