Winding machine for carbon fiber spools
No stick-slip
Carbon fiber spools for use in the aerospace technology, for example, are wound on this machine. The spools must be of a high quality. Due to the very slow manufacturing process for carbon fibers, the speed of this movement is extremely low. A low breakaway torque (stick slip) and minimal play were important criteria for the design of the linear guide system. A DryLin® T linear guide system from igus® was chosen, which enables a sufficiently even linear movement for this application to be implemented at the low speeds.
