Technical environment - clean room

Safe and Clean with igus® E-Chains®

igus® goes clean room - qualification of E6 and other igus® E-Chains®

The already low abrasion of the E-Chain® is yet again significantly reduced by the application of a special material. In many applications where cumbersome special solutions are used, a simple standard E-Chain® can be used instead. An extensive test program has been completed for both gliding and unsupported applications. For many applications, the E-Chain® made of special material can be operated practically free of abrasion. The IPA tests confirm that the standard E-Chain® from igus® is sufficient for clean room requirements. "Tested and certified as very good!" E-Chains® for clean room applications on the test stand Clean room environments demand very high wear resistance of moving parts. Thus for instance, E-Chains® must be extremely wear resistant in order to fulfill the standard requirements of this sensitive environment. The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA) has tested the igus® E6 and E14 Series in the following way:

ISO Class 1, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 for System E3, Series E3.15.040.075.0 at v = 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, 2 m/s

ISO Class 1, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 for System E6 - special material*, Series E6.29.060.150.0.CR
at v = 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, 2 m/s

ISO Class 3, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 for System E6 - standard material*, Series E6.29.060.150.0
at v = 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, 2 m/s

ISO Class 2, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 for Easy Chain® Series E14.3.038 at v = 1 m/s

ISO Class 3, in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 for System E6, Series E6.29.050 at v = 1 m/s and 2 m/s
