This machine is used to test silicon breast implants for durability. For this purpose, the implants are put onto a metal plate. With the help of a stepper motor, a second plate is lowered down from above and applies pressure onto the implant. The mechanism has been realized with drylin® linear guide systems that care for an even movement of the plates. The system is in addition lubrication-free, which benefits medical applications.
