Ice-cold cutting
This pneumatic sword is used in the food industry. Convenience products of various kinds are stored in plastic containers in cold stores before they are filled or portioned. Some products freeze together in blocks and are then difficult to process. These blocks are separated again using the pneumatic sword. A force of 5,800 Newtons is required for this. Since the sword works directly above the food, it must be guaranteed that no balls or grease escape from the bearings. In addition, the guide must be sturdy enough to counter the long leverage of the sword. These requirements were best fulfilled by a drylin® linear guide from igus®.
