This device is a food processor, cooking pot and pressure cooker in one. This means that the bearings for the moving parts of the stirring mechanism in the machine must be able to withstand high temperatures and be as lubricant-free as possible, since they come into direct contact with food. Since the product is to be sold in the USA, it also requires approval by the ”Food and Drug Administration“ (FDA). The choice was finally made in favour of the cylindrical iglidur® A500 plain bearing. This is FDA-tested, lubricant-free and temperature- resistant up to 250°C.
