This Newton‘s cradle is set up in parks and has been designed to teach young people about the laws of physics. Since the cradle is used outdoors, it is exposed to different weather conditions. This makes great demands on the spherical bearings used to attach the balls. Plain bearings from igus® are just perfect for this since they require no lubrication or maintenance. Conventional bearings would seize up and corrode over time.
