This machine is used to grind stainless steel tanks. This means that the guides and plain bearings are constantly exposed to the tiniest of grinding particles. Conventional bearings and guides would become extremely soiled over time, and would have to be serviced regularly. Since it is particularly important that stainless steel tanks are ground evenly, machine downtimes during the grinding process would reduce product quality. For this reason, a drylin® W linear guide system was chosen on the one hand and an iglidur® PRT polymer rotary table plain bearing on the other. Since these are all maintenance-free, unplanned machine downtimes due to soiled bearings are a thing of the past.
