Sturdy and free-moving
This vertical wind turbine can withstand wind and weather. The vane bearings in particular are subject to an enormous load in heavy winds due to the extreme centrifugal forces. In quiet wind conditions, the bearings have to be free-moving to enable the vanes to turn smoothly. The developers found the combination of sturdiness and freedom of movement they were looking for in iglidur® plain bearings. These are lubricant- and thus maintenance-free. In addition, they are resistant to corrosion and remain functional even under great fluctuations in temperature.
