Clean gear-changing
The gears of an MG Rover with IB5 gearbox can easily be engaged using this gear lever. The standard version of the gear lever is equipped with a rubber bearing. However, this becomes worn and porous over time. The gearbox then has too much leeway and the gears become difficultto engage. Use of an igubal® pivoting bearing makes this problem a thing of the past. The bearing has a high load capacity and does not lose any of its precision even under a permanent load.
