Precise Printing
This printer makes three-dimensional plastic models. The plastic is heated to 255°C in the print head and is built up along three axes, one layer at a time. This requires highspeed for the individual print heads and absolute precision, which is achieved by the use of DryLin® linear guides and iglidur® plain bearings. Conventional ball bearings could not achieve thehighspeedsrequired. Furthermore, dust increasingly accumulated in the bearings and led to malfunctioning.
