speedifit: Frequently Asked Questions

The delivery of a ready to fit unit saves valuable manufacturing and logistics time, the one-piece speedifit assembly does not need any further process or work.

As with all igus® parts, there is no minimum order, you can order 1 part or 1 million.

You will usually receive a quotation within 24 hours, if the speedifit assembly is particularly complex this may take slightly longer, in which case you will be kept informed of the progress.

This does depend on the material, complexity, and quantity. In general, quantities of speedifit parts can be delivered within 5 to 10 working days. In every speedifit quotation, a firm lead-time is stated, and this time is a maximum.

Again, this depends on the individual part. The main cost saving given by speedifit is operations, given by the reduction in manufacturing and logistics time.

Speedifit components can be made by whatever method you choose. However, we have been able to work with customers to make significant cost savings by, for example, changing a machined stainless steel bearing housing to a casting, and supplying this as a speedifit assembly.

Any igus® part can be fitted into a custom housing or unit, which in turn can be made from virtually any material. Common choices for speedifit are aluminium, anodised aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel, as well as common engineering plastics.
