LatheThis newly developed vertical lathe can process workpieces with a diameter of up to 4,500 millimetres and a height of up to 2,000 millimetres. The cutting tool has to be able to move extremely flexibly for the workpiece to be machined all over. e-chains® from igus® are used for the energy supply to the tool. The vertical movement is accomplished by an e-chain® of the 3400 series, 2.65 metres long, the horizontal movement by an e-chain® of the 2600 series, 4.2 metres long.
