Completely maintenance-free door hinges
Very heavy doors with an opening angle of 180° are fitted on large yachts in the gunwale area. The hinges required for this must be designed for a high load capacity and be particularly corrosion-resistant. Previous solutions, however, have often been very prone to corrosion and wear in the area of the hinge points. The use of igus® plain bearings was able to compensate for the drawbacks of the previous design. The design is now fully maintenance-free.
