Shows feelings
If you smile at him, he smiles back. If you look grim, he looks grim too. This robot head can show emotions, mimicking the expressions of his human counterpart. This requires a precise sequence of movements of individual facial features. Therefore many moving elements are placed in the robot‘s head, which are essential for maintenance-free continuous operation that is especially low-maintenance and durable. The drive units for moving the facial features also have to be robust and long-lasting, with a minimal number of components. The key components used in the application are many small and low-backlash iglidur® plain bearings, arranged in close proximity.
