manus® 2011

Machine for frying Spanish omelettes - Gold Award at manus® 2011

Very tasty

This machine cooks one of Spain‘s national dishes, the Tortilla de Patatas, or potato omelet. It can handle more than 1,800 omelets per hour. The pans for the individual omelets, in rows of four, are moved through the machine. iglidur® Z plain bearings are used in the hot and greasy environment, and iglidur® A200 plain bearings where there is direct contact with food. The omelettes are turned with the aid of pneumatic cylinders. This movement is carried out by igus® products. This is accomplished by two DryLin® OGA linear housings supported by a stainless steel shaft. This solution eliminates alignment errors. The resistance of the components to chemical cleaning agents is also important, and is provided by the igus® products.
