This manus® contribution is a jackknife used in breweries for beer production. The jackknife cuts slits into the draff. This is a filtering agent obtained from malt residues. The process is important so that the draff can be removed afterwards. The components must satisfy various requirements, such as temperature resistance. Plain bearings are used, made of iglidur® A500, an FDA-compliant high-temperature material.
