The Jetpack with igus® products presented here gets closer to the dream of flying. The “pilot” has a rocket drive buckled to his back that will give him the required thrust. Since temperatures of several hundred degrees Celsius occur here, the pilot must wear fi re and heat-resistant clothing. The bearings used also have to withstand the high temperatures and pressures. Various iglidur® plain bearings are used in the overall construction, and xiros® plastic ball bearings are used on the control handles. In addition, the most important connection for the whole control system is an igubal® rod end bearing which bears the pilot’s whole weight.
