SHELL ECO MARATHON 2010

What is the Shell Eco-Marathon? The Shell Eco-Marathon is the largest energy-efficiency competition and is aimed at student teams from across Europe. The aim of the Shell Eco-Marathon is to construct and drive a vehicle that runs with as little fuel as possible. Both conventional fuels and alternative energy sources are allowed to drive these vehicles. There are two competition categories. Prototype vehicles: streamlined vehicles whose design aims to reduce drag and minimize fuel consumption. Urban Concept vehicles: they resemble conventional cars and road suitability is a prerequisite. The Shell Eco-Marathon in recent years has become one of the most important forums for sustainable mobility worldwide - with venues in Europe (May 6 to 7 ), the U.S. (March 26 to 28) and for the first time in Asia in 2010 (July 8 to10).
