igus® on site at the FH Cologne-Deutz

igus® came into direct contact with students from Cologne at the two company contact fairs at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. On 6th May the MeetFH started at the technically oriented university in Cologne-Deutz in the main building and igus® set up its stand right in the entrance area. Jochen Hammacher presented the company, the location and our products with my support.
The main point, however, were the talks with interested students on technical courses, who had the opportunity to introduce themselves or find out about work placements or diploma positions.

We welcomed many interested students from the areas of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering and automotive engineering as well as several lecturers from the faculties. Interest was high and the topics covered were varied: from a comprehensive company presentation including all departments, to offers of work placements, temporary jobs and diploma positions/bachelor theses, through to graduate positions, people swapped information in a relaxed atmosphere. Some students actually took advantage of the opportunity to show themselves in their best light, including prepared applications to available jobs. A step that was explicitly wanted and encouraged by igus®.

On 18th May it was then Part 2 of the FH Cologne trade fair weeks. U-Connect of the economics and business department of FH Cologne opens its doors under canvas. The throng here was, as expected, less than at the MeetFH due to the smaller dimensions. Nevertheless, contacts were also forged here, this time with business administration students, marketing professionals and sales candidates.
And it was worth it: The first female applicant for a position at igus® was sitting and talking with us at the company just a week after U-Connect.

In summary, the two trade fairs, particularly MeetFH, can be classed as a success. For all those who missed us but are nevertheless interested in a job at igus®: take a look around at our career pages here on the igus® job pages and send your applications by post to:
