Second post - Presentation of university marketing

14.12.2009

What exactly do you do? A question I have so often heard, as a student assistant for university marketing, that I must explain it tangibly. The past week is an excellently explainable and presentable period in which many things happened, and which will familiarize you with my work and also with the performance of Y.E.S.
On Tuesday (4/12) and Friday (8/12) we had a visit from two completely different interest groups - one, a group of 5th semester mechanical engineering students and the other electrical engineering students respectively - for which I was responsible for my organization. The result can be seen in the news section. My task was (in addition to preparing and publishing the news online) the complete organization of the event, from initial contact through to the reception of the groups. The focus of both groups had to be determined early, in order to talk about the relevant topics.
When the subjects were determined (clearing and order processing for the mechanical engineers, E-ChainSystem® and SAS applications for the prospective electrical engineers), competent speakers had to be found within igus®. Special thanks once again to Andreas Hüther, Matthias Siegmund and Nils Jäger at this juncture for their commitment. After they were "briefed", suitable rooms had to be reserved and equipped. There were still a few little things (order for welcome banners, visitor badges, seating, PC check, photos, etc.) for me to do, but these formed the prerequisite for an event that is satisfying for both sides. And that is the demand we make on ourselves.
Besides the task of organization, of course the "normal" daily tasks were not negligible, like incoming requests for designs of students, sponsorship requests and so on and so on ...
More about it elsewhere.
Yours, Gilbert
