Complete freedom from maintenance and stick-slip-free movement (no squeaking) are the prerequisites for use in office chairs. The sliding friction coefficients of iglidur® G plain bearings against steel are 0.09 to 0.22 in dry operation. Cost reasons came first and foremost for the tests with iglidur® G plain bearings. Further benefits of the iglidur® G plain bearings soon showed up in the trials.
