Suspension fork - reduced weight and maintenance

Victory with igus®

Sabine Spitz won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing with this suspension fork in her bike. Weight is not only a decisive factor in cycling. Four plain bearings made of iglidur® J in a special form are fitted in this suspension fork for mountain bikes. The bearings are around five times lighter than metallic bearings of the same dimensions. The weight and manufacturing costs of the suspension fork were thereby reduced without affecting the performance. In addition, the maintenance of the suspension fork could be reduced.
