The Acabion is a possible concept for quick and highly efficient purely electrical personal mobility of the future. It has received many awards, for example the German Future Award 2008 from the Frankfurt Zukunftsinstitut. The Acabion has a perfect streamline shape and travels on two or four wheels as required up to 500 kilometers an hour. Two of the wheels are designed as highly complex retractable landing gear. igus® plain bearings play the decisive role in implementing this idea and brought the breakthrough for putting it into practice.
