The enormous cost advantages compared to standard commercial metallic rolled bushings as well as an extreme resistance to wear distinguish iglidur® D. Moreover iglidur® D bearings have very low coefficients of friction which enables the combination with "soft" shaft materials.
By replacing the machined housing component made of aluminium with an igubal® injection molded housing, the costs were able to be drastically reduced again.
