Tunnel boring machine
This machine moves deeply through the earth and is used to drill tunnels using the excavation by mining technique. During this process, the entire system is subject to extreme vibrations and heavy soiling. Here several igus® E-Chains® of the E4 family are used for the energy supply system. Especially interesting is the upright application of an energy chain® with a rearward bending radius and a diameter of up to seven metres.
