Conveyor chains
Conveyor chains are ultimately a line up of plain bearings connected by (metal) plates. Standard chains require regular maintenance for function and corrosion protection. In large chains used outdoors, the lubrication is often neglected due to the high expenditure, which leads to premature wear or even complete failure of the chain.
The equipment of a newly designed chain series with plain bearings made from an iglidur® plastic bearing material specially developed for this purpose brought relief. The application of an iglidur® plain bearing on the outer side of the pin was the chief new aspect of the design.
