Valve

manus® 2007

A rare problem in disc valves: If both halves of the housing are twisted toward each other, and in disc valves with large nominal wdiths or in high process pressures, considerable forces can act upon the axles, which can bring about higher forces for the operation of the disc valve and a visible wear of the axles. As a solution to this problem, some manufacturers of disc valves have been using for some years standard plastic bushings as plain bearings for the axles.

The few users who have the above-mentioned problems however insist on the application of plain bearings. The users without problems however reject plain bearings as the installation costs increase with this solution. In the new design, the shafts feature a circumferential groove. The bearing is accordingly provided with a spring, so that the bearing can be mounted without tools and lock in on the shaft ends of the disk, thereby lowering the installation cost and time.
