The requirement on the proposed cross member from the automotive industry was that it should be able to pivot, rotate and slide in order to optimally execute all essential installation activities. By the use of an existing assembly line and due to ergonomical reasons, special emphasis had to be placed on the lowest possible weight of the cross member. High load carrying capacity, low maintenance and high service life were to be observed and implemented.
Here an iglidur® polymer slewing ring bearing is used, which immediately distinguishes itself by its low weight. High load carrying capacity, low maintenance and high service life as well as corrosion protection are likewise stated.
