In powder presses, the joints of the filling-shoe lifting mechanism are permanently exposed to strong dirt accumulation from dust and powder particles. Thereby the service life of the device is not more than two months on an average. In a newly designed mechanism, the conventional roller ball bearings were replaced by iglidur® plastic plain bearings.
Since February 2006, the powder press has been in 3-shift operation without replacing the friction pairs so far.
