"Half of the device is used under water and must be consequently provided with corrosion-resistant parts. Ball bearings are very precarious due to the lubricant particularly under water. Stainless steel guidances cannot be considered due to the high costs. Plastic is used also for hygienic reasons. The igubal® rod end bearing is successfully used here due to its corrosion resistance. An igubal® double joint is used for another linear application in the upper drive enclosure. Due to the successful application of the igus® products, all other bearings were also equipped with igus® polymer products. ”
