"In collaboration with the igus® engineers, the demands on the bearings were analyzed in the extension. These were compressive strength and resistance to temperature and chemicals, and till then there was no experience about the interaction between a plastic bearing and an oxidation-hardened and corrosion-protected shaft surface. Therefore in further experiments iglidur® J bearings were tested, which distinguished themselves additionally by their extremely low coefficients of friction in dry operation. All trials came out with positive results. The bearings have been installed about a year ago and since then operate free of troubles in the manufacturing. ”
