Quieter running
In the past, the crankshafts of these model boats often scratched and became corroded. The scratches were caused by the conventional bronze bearings used to guide the shaft. Since the model builders have replaced the bronze bearings by iglidur® plastic plain bearings from igus®, the shafts have been running much more smoothly and without problems. The bearings are also resistant to corrosion and absolutely lubricant-free.
