Extremely durable
This binding is used on so-called splitboards. A splitboard is a snowboard that can be separated lengthways into two ski-like parts and is held together by bindings among other things. After splitting, the bindings can be mounted on the skis without tools being required. The plain bearings used must be extremely weatherproof and impact-resistant so that they work faultlessly at all times. igus® plain bearings met these requirements perfectly. The bearings show no signs of wear after more than 250,000 metres of climbing and descent in snow, ice and under permanent load.
