iglidur® Tribo-Filament for 3D printer

igus® presents world's first tribological 3D filament for 3D printers.

The tribological 3D printing material is up to 50 times more abrasion-resistant than conventional 3D print materials

The tribological specialist igus® conducts research in the field of 3D printing to provide its customers with even more flexibility. For instance, they can design custom parts or manufacture prototypes whilst simultaneously relying on the tested service life of igus® materials. In this regard, they can choose between three highly wear-resistant igus® materials: iglidur® I170-PF, iglidur® I180-PF and iglidur® J260-PF. Starter kits containing 25 g of each of the materials iglidur® I170-PF (in 1.75 mm), iglidur® I180-PF (in 1.75 mm and 3 mm) and iglidur® J260-PF (in 1.75 mm and 3 mm) are available for initial trials.

Typical applications:Prototype construction, small batches, test installations

Processing instructions

3D printing materials such as iglidur® tribo filaments can be processed on any 3D printer that is equipped with a heated print bed on which temperatures are adjustable. Accordingly, any method to ensure the adhesion of ABS filaments to the printer bed can then also be used for iglidur® 3D printer filaments, examples: glass taped with blue tape or Kapton tape at a bed temperature of 90 – 110 °C. iglidur® I170-PF is harder to process than iglidur® I180-PF. The complete processing instructions are accessible as follows:

Leading-edge technology: 3D printers with igus® products - no lubricants

3D printers can print three-dimensional workpieces with computer controls. On the one hand, the advantages include that high tooling costs are avoided to produce parts and no excess material needs to be machined, making 3D printing a cost-effective method. On the other, there are also no limits to shape design, making unusual shapes possible that would otherwise not be possible.

More than 100,000 products available! Delivery and consultation Mon-Fri from 7am-8pm and Sat from 8am-12pm!
