Modern applications for machine tool manufacturers for environments with hot chips

igus® energy tubes are the solution of choice when chips damage the cables in an energy chain on a machine tool during turning, milling, or drilling operations. They reliably protect moving cables against chips. When chips are very hot, igus® energy chains made from proven igus® igumid HT materials are the method of choice to protect cables against damage and to avoid expensive downtime. igumid HT materials are resistant against burn-in from hot chips up to 850°; hot chips also do not bond to the e-chain. All E2 and E4 e-tubes from the standard product range are available in the heat-resistant HT material; as an alternative, aluminium lids are also available for igus® plastic energy tubes.
